May Photo Contest Winner Announced

Published: May 25, 2021

In May, Visit Claremore launched a photography contest challenging people on social media to share photos of their favorite Claremore destinations using the hashtags #VisitClaremore and #2021PhotoContest.

“I love the opportunity to tell our story through the lens of people who live and visit Claremore,” said Tanya Andrews, director of Visit Claremore.

Steve Fairley’s photo of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum at sunset was selected as the winner.  In addition to being featured on the website, he received a gift certificate to J. Farley’s Pub and a four-pack of tickets to the 75th annual Will Rogers Stampede PRCA Rodeo. The contest will continue through July with new monthly prizes of unique experiences in Claremore and the opportunity to be featured on the website.

Fairley, a retired union carpenter from California who has lived in Claremore for the past ten years, said this about his submission: “My inspiration for this photo is my love for capturing sunrises and sunsets.”

“Steve’s photo expresses Claremore’s beauty and history in such a unique way.  We look forward to continuing to feature the experiences of both visitors and the people who live and work here,” said John Feary, Claremore City Manager.
